Description
These Andalusian Coturnix Quail Hatching Eggs are produced from a specialty line of Coturnix quail developed for their deep slate-blue feather coloration and calm, steady temperament. The Andalusian variety is a rare and visually striking addition to any flock, often displaying a uniform steel-gray appearance with minimal patterning. These birds are not only visually impressive but also productive layers, making them suitable for breeders seeking both form and function.
Eggs are sourced from carefully managed breeder flocks within the Undique partner network. Selection priorities for this line include consistent feather coloration, strong fertility, and reliable growth and egg production. The Andalusian line is maintained to balance appearance with practical performance traits.
Incubation requires 17 to 18 days at a steady temperature of 99.5°F with a humidity level of 45 to 50 percent, rising to 65 to 70 percent during the final three days before hatch. Eggs should be rested pointed side down for 12 to 24 hours prior to incubation. Eggs are not washed, preserving the natural bloom that protects the developing embryo. Hatch rates depend on proper incubation practices and are not guaranteed.
This line is ideal for breeders looking to work with rare Coturnix genetics, expand color diversity in their flock, or develop breeding projects centered around uniform, blue-toned feathering.
1. Typical Time to Ship & Shipping Methods
-
Processing & Collection: Eggs are gathered daily fresh from our NPIP and AI monitored flocks to maintain peak freshness and fertility.
Orders are typically prepared and dispatched within 1 to 3 business days (in extremely busy periods 2-5 days, depending on Order/Variety).
We do not ship eggs older than 48 hours, older eggs are used to make freeze dried quail egg powder or a hatched for local chick sales. -
Shipping Method: Shipping options depend on the customer's selection at checkout. However, orders containing more than 12 eggs typically ship via USPS Priority Mail (or equivalent expedited service) to ensure swift transit.
-
Undique's network of farms is unique regarding shipping speed. Since most quail farms operate on a backlog or preorder shipping principle, customers often wait weeks or even months for eggs to ship. This causes a heavy support load, including chat messages asking when eggs will ship, cancellations, and customer frustration.
2. Acceptable / Expected Hatching Rates
-
No Hatch Rate Guarantee: Because hatching outcomes depend heavily on factors beyond our control once eggs leave our facility—including postal handling, transit vibrations, temperature fluctuations, incubator quality, calibration, and humidity control—we do not guarantee a specific hatch rate.
-
Flock Viability: We continuously test and incubate our own eggs to ensure high flock fertility. While a 50% hatch rate is generally considered a successful baseline for shipped eggs in the industry, individual results will vary based on buyer incubation conditions.
-
Fertility Checks are done on the farm by hatching eggs regularly for local chick sales and meat production for pet treats. If a flock shows low fertility these eggs go into the freeze dryer. Buyers cannot determine fertility by examining the egg yolk after incubation has started.
3. Conditions Under Which We Reship an Order
-
No Reshipments: We do not offer reshipments or replacement orders for hatching eggs under any circumstances. Any approved damage claims are handled strictly via store credit or partial refund.
4. Conditions Under Which We Refund an Order
-
Fresh / Pet Eggs: Due to strict food safety regulations, no returns or refunds are accepted once shipped.
-
Hatching Eggs (Hatch Performance): Because hatching results rely on external variables outside seller control, we do not issue refunds, partial refunds, or store credit based on low or failed hatch rates.
-
Hatching Eggs (Breakage): Refunds or store credits or refunds are only issued for physical breakage reported with required photo proof within 1 week of delivery. Microcracks that do not impact the viability of an egg are not considered damage.
-
State Import Restrictions (e.g., Hawaii): Orders shipped to restricted jurisdictions without mandatory buyer-side import permits that are seized or destroyed by state authorities are non-refundable. We are unwilling to undergo external veterinary inspections due to biosecurity concerns (other than the Department of Agriculture) to fulfill any export requirements outside the continental US, and we have blocked orders from restricted territories on Shopify.
5. Broken Egg in Shipment Policy
-

-

-

-
-
